About
Eikin is the new home of Guillaume Jamet, video game industry veteran with extended background in publishing and business development for entertainment industries.
Guillaume’s odyssey through the entertainment industries began in the early 2000s as a video game journalist. His entrepreneurial drive led to the creation of the Mondes Persistants / Mondes Online network, a media group dedicated to video games and pop culture.
In the late ’00s, Guillaume embraced marketing, first by founding Wgames, an agency providing video game publishers with community and marketing services, then by joining VPCom as Head of Digital Communications. In 2011, he established his own communication and events agency, Is This Art, which organized gaming and tech events such as “Montpellier In Game” and provided comprehensive support and business advisory for start-up creators and indie game studios. His dedication to young entrepreneurs extended further as he co-founded Push Start, a cluster aimed at creating a strong ecosystem for video game companies in the South of France.
In 2015, Guillaume launched The Sidekicks, an indie publishing label and companion of the early days of studios like Midgar Studio, Splashteam, and La Moutarde, known for their games Edge of Eternity, Splasher, and Old School Musical. The Sidekicks caught the attention of Plug In Digital, leading to its acquisition in 2017, and Guillaume’s subsequent role as VP and Head of Publishing.
At Plug In Digital, he was responsible for building the entire publishing strategy from the ground up and created two labels: Dear Villagers, which brought to life games such as Fabledom, The Dungeon of Nalheulbeuk series, and The Forgotten City; and PID Games, with titles like Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Skabma, and Gravity Circuit. As the closest advisor to the founder and CEO, he was also in charge of exploring new business models and emerging markets. Guillaume’s vision and leadership were crucial to the company’s global expansion, marked by a significant milestone in 2021 with a successful fundraising of $70 million.
Beyond his executive roles, Guillaume has been a passionate advocate for nurturing new talent. He has been involved in signing numerous debut projects and has actively participated in many programs aimed at elevating indie studios and young entrepreneurs. His latest initiative, Indie Rise, a pitch contest for emerging markets that started in Indonesia in 2022, is another testament to his commitment to discovering and fostering young developers and artists.
Guillaume now aims to blend his entrepreneurial acumen with his passion for cultivating young talent through his latest venture, Eikin, a business lab and advisory agency dedicated to guiding the next generation of entertainment visionaries and developing new business projects.
Eikin?
In Norse mythology, Eikin is one of the wild rivers that flow around the land of the gods, lending strength to Yggdrasil, the World Tree.
I’ve been using that nickname for decades for all my female characters in video games. It’s the middle name I chose for my beloved daughter (and Balder for my son!).
Therefore, when the time came to choose a name for an agency committed to leading new projects & partners through the tumultuous waters of the entertainment industries, it felt like it was destined to be that one.
